• You can find out if a mortgage broker is registered under The Code by contacting The Mortgage Code Compliance Board at enquiries@mortgagecode.org.uk.

• Understand the mortgage brokers fee arrangements. If they charge you a fee, ask if it will reduce if commission is received by the broker from the product providers or if the commission will be returned to you

• Satisfy yourself that the mortgage broker has understood your circumstances. Be sure to complete any questionnaires honestly and thoroughly.
